Co-Creation 2012 asked that we awaken spiritually so we can allow our unique gifts to emerge and apply this creative energy to the world. As Diana-Butler Bass put it, “This awakening demands that we act upon this new vision. Wake up, discern, imagine and do.”
The conference activities of listening to speakers, reading, thinking and sharing in workshops engaged our minds, while the art, music and meditative practices offered in Sacred Space for the City engaged our hearts.
By combining both levels of experience we created an opening for the heart, mind and will – a space where the Spirit can speak to us in a variety of different ways. The intriguing thought rolling around from the workshop suddenly took on a new light as the viewer admired a painting. A question or concern felt easier to solve after walking the labyrinth.
The creative and cultural events of Sacred Space for the City were offered to encourage this inspiration and to nurture our ability to share our unique gifts with the world.
